Francesca Lo, Ed.D.

Francesca believes that leadership is about working with others to create positive change and is something that grows out of experience, practice and reflection. She oversees the programming and strategic direction of the Husky Leadership Initiative (HLI) by guiding and supporting the HLI committee and its working groups and by building partnerships across campus and in the community. Fran’s prior work in higher education service-learning and student affairs and in community-based youth leadership programs have fueled her passion for facilitating college students’ learning and development in their journeys to become effective, caring and socially just citizens in their communities. She holds a Doctor of Education from the UW College of Education, a Master of Arts from the UW School of Marine Affairs, and a Bachelor of Science from Brown University.
Nani Vishwanath, M.Ed.

Nani has a passion for making leadership more accessible for all students. She believes that leadership can look different for every person, and that we can all learn from one another as leaders. She assists Fran with the programming and development of the Husky Leadership Initiative (HLI) through support of the HLI committee and its working groups. Nani comes from a background of higher education experience in alumni relations, and has just completed her Masters of Education in Student Development Administration from Seattle University.
Jake serves as the Design & Print Production Student Coordinator for HLI. He is a visual communication design student at the UW, and has a particular interest in branding, marketing, poster and information design. His work with HLI centers around publicity efforts for our events, resources, and programs. Jake also works as a Student Assistant at UW Medicine, and is a member of Zeta Beta Tau.
