U Lead We Lead is the Husky Leadership Initiative’s signature event kicking off the school year. It is a cross-campus collaboration of faculty, staff and students that uses the art of storytelling to motivate leaders of today and tomorrow. As a community, we dive into timely and relevant questions about leadership. Beginning with the questions “What is leadership? How do I become a better leader?” U Lead We Lead participants learn from stories of leadership development—their own and those of local luminaries.
2014 U Lead We Lead: Cultivating Leadership
10/29/14 | 6-8:00 p.m.
A brief training will be scheduled immediately before the event. Details will be sent.
Faculty, staff, and students build conversation in small groups that encourage active participation and sharing. Table captains play a vital role by encouraging participation and sharing to help students and other participants to reflect upon the ideas presented by the featured speakers. One faculty/staff member will be paired with one student leader to co-facilitate table conversations with eight participants. Discussion questions are provided to table captains during a short training session immediately prior to the event.
This is a perfect opportunity to reflect with students as they explore the idea of what it means to engage in leadership.
